How To Play Youtube On Android Auto

Introduction

Google play store has blocked video-streaming applications like Netflix and YouTube to ensure the safety of the driver as well as the passengers and pedestrians. Watching videos while driving can be harmful to not only you but everybody on the road and others sitting inside the vehicle.

Hence, it is understandable why these video streaming applications like YouTube have been banned from Google. However, there are few cases when you did like to stream in the video. For instance, if you are stuck in immovable traffic or maybe you have parked your car somewhere and want to enjoy a movie.

If you are someone who would love to access YouTube, then this is the perfect guide for you and we are going to cover every aspect of streaming videos.

Use YouTube Via CarStream

Earlier, you might require root to install a CarStream app but now, you can directly install it via AAAD App. This application has been made by shmykelsa. It allows you to download unofficial applications with ease.

You do not need to provide any special permissions to this application or even root or system. Here’s how you can do it step-by-step:

  • Download AAAD file (it will be available in APK format)
  • Open the APK file for installing and it will ask you to enable Unknown sources.
  • These Unknown sources options can be enabled from the “Settings” option in all Android 8.0 operating systems or below.
  • In case, you are using an operating system higher than 8.0, then you will get a pop-up to allow using unknown sources.

From here, you can install the application. Now, you will see a list of applications available to install on your smartphone.

Click on the CarStream application and install the latest version.

Once the application has been installed now you can use the USB cable to connect with your display. In case, you are using wireless connection then you can go ahead and turn on your Bluetooth for the same.

Now, you can simply click on the CarStream Application to watch the YouTube app on the screen.

You can simply play YouTube videos even while your car is on the road but it is not recommended to watch while you are driving. You can use the similar way to install YouTube on both Android smartphones – rooted and non-rooted.

Please keep in mind that you are allowed to install only one free application from AAAD App in a month. You have to wait another month to install another application for free otherwise you have to pay $3.5 to get the premium version.

Get CarStream For Rooted Smartphone

If you are having a rooted Android smartphone, then you can simply go to the official website of the developer and download CarStream. You need to make sure that you have installed an official version of the application from the Google PlayStore.

Now, you can install Android Auto and officially download CarStream. Go ahead and start the Android Auto application that will show you three vertical lines on the left top corner.

This option will show you a drop down menu from where you can easily click on the “About” button.

When the about page gets open, you will see there is a setting button on the right top corner.

Now you can simply click on that I came and it will show up many different settings including developer mode. If you cannot see the developer mode then scroll down to the bottom of the page and there will be a “version” option. Click on this option multiple times and developer mode will get enabled automatically.

There might be a pop-up asking you if you want to switch to developer mode and all you need to do is click on “OK.”

Now you can click on the three dots that are visible on the top right corner and the drop down will show you the developers setting option.

Once you have done this you can simply click on unknown sources and you are good to go.  simply minimize the application and start CarStream. The application will automatically open YouTube’s official site and it will allow you to screen all the videos.
